Mission Statement:

First Baptist Douglasville exist to display the glory of God by making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel throughout the world (Matthew 28:16-20).

School Objective:
To recruit, train and mobilize church members to be leaders in their home, in their church and for God’s mission.

Start Date:
Fall 2019. The tentative start date Sunday, September 8th.

Night & Time:
Sunday evenings from 6:00-9:00PM.

Location:
Student ministry area.

Two Semesters: Approximately 30 weeks total.

Course Schedule:

  • Focus: The life and theology of a Christian leader.
  • Semester 1: Christian Character.
    • Personal Character.
    • Marriage & Family.
    • Biblical Leadership.
  • Semester 2: Biblical Theology.
    • Christian Doctrine.
    • Ecclesiology (What does a healthy church look like)?
    • Hermeneutics (How to study, interpret and teach the Bible).
  • Mentorship: Each student will be assigned one of our pastor or staff members as their mentor. You will meet with them one time a month (8 times total).

Application Process:

  • FBCD Membership.
  • Complete application. This is available on the bottom of this page or through a printed copy. If you complete a printed copy, please scan it, and email to Pastor Tim at .
  • Complete background check. Once you have completed the application, an email will be sent to you with instructions regarding the background check.
  • Interview with FBCD pastoral staff member. Once the application and background check have been received, you will be contacted to set up a time for you to meet with one of the FBCD pastors for the interview.
  • Completion of leadership commitment. This leadership commitment will be given to you at the conclusion of your interview with one of the FBCD pastors.
  • Approval for admission by FBCD pastoral staff.

Program Requirements:
FBCD Pastoral leadership has the freedom to dismiss anyone from the program at any time who does not meet the following requirements:

  • Can only miss two classes per semester (4 in a calendar year).
  • Completion of all assignments.
  • Actively attending FBCD.
  • Actively serving at FBCD.
  • Promoting unity at FBCD.

Important Dates:

  • June 1 – Registration Deadline.
  • Aug 1 – Enrollment Deadline.
  • Sept 8 – School Begins.
