The mission of the Men's Ministry at FBCD is to encourage men to develop Godly character and help equip them to influence their home, church, community, and world for Jesus Christ
To bring men into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
To unite men in Bible study, prayer, ministry, fellowship, and accountability.
To become a supportive environment that touches the lives of the entire church family.
To promote mentoring opportunities that lead to significant vital relationships.
To become a magnet for service and a resource for other church ministries and missions.
To provide a series of events that will promote fellowship, outreach, and evangelism.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another"
Proverbs 27:17 NASB
Do you need sharpening? The Men's Ministry at FBCD is about growing closer to Christ and each other in Christ. It's about becoming men of honor who can be trusted, who live lives of integrity, who strive to become better husbands, better fathers, and more godlier men. This is accomplished through the following connection points:
MONTHLY MEN'S BREAKFAST
All men are invited to join us at the Douglasville Golden Corral (in front of Lowe's) on the second Saturday of each month from 7:30 - 9:00am. We meet in the large private dining area at the rear of the restaurant. This setting gives us men an opportunity to eat a delicious breakfast buffet, enjoy a time of fellowship, hear a relevant challenging Bible message, share prayer requests, and participate in a time of corporate prayer. We encourage Dad's to bring their boys-young and old. We also encourage men to bring visitors, of all ages, as an outreach to our community and families. Each man is asked to contribute $5 towards breakfast, and the Men's Ministry picks up the balance and tips the servers.
MEN'S SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES
Small Group Bible studies are offered yearly on relevant topics that challenge men. These studies typically meet once a week for 6-8 weeks on the FBC campus and are offered on assorted evenings. Be on the lookout for announcements on these topical men's studies in the church bulletin, monthly newsletter, and this web site.
WILD GAME DINNER
Each year the senior men of FBC host a Wild Game Dinner. Tasty selections of wild "hunted" game are offered for an evening of fellowship and a special uplifting biblical message. This ministry is held on the FBC gym floor. All men and young men are welcome to attend. All members are highly encouraged to invite their unchurched friends and neighbors. Reserved seating is available, and tickets are $10 beginning several weeks before the event.
