Logan Creasy - Our New Worship Pastor

First Baptist Douglasville church family, my name is Logan Creasy, and I am honored to be considered as a candidate to become your next Worship Pastor. Over the past six months, the Lord has been stirring within me a desire to put my “yes” on the table and serve Him wherever He leads. In February, Pastor Tim contacted me and this stirring began to grow. I believe this church body is poised and equipped to do great things for the Kingdom of God, and it’s a joy that I might have the opportunity to join with you in that work.

I am blessed to say that I was raised in a godly home with godly parents. From an early age, I was exposed to the gospel. At the age of fifteen, in a small Baptist church in West Tennessee, I personally acknowledged my need for a Savior and trusted in Christ. I wish I could say that I followed Him fervently thereafter, but unfortunately my walk with God remained stagnant and immature for quite some time. But, in 2009, the Lord graciously revealed to me the depths of His love and the beauty of the cross in a way that changed my life forever. He opened my eyes to the glory of the gospel and its implications in every detail of my life. He gave me a hunger for His Word, along with a deep desire to know Him and to make Him known. This passion for God and His church continued to grow, and I began to feel a call towards vocational ministry. After much prayer and guidance from those whom I trust the most, I surrendered to the call of gospel ministry and was ordained in March 2011.

I’m originally from Tennessee and come from a very musical family. My grandfather was a worship pastor for 40 years, and I began leading worship in my local church at the age of sixteen. I attended Union University where I received a Music Theory and Composition degree with an emphasis in vocal performance. Upon graduation, I moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area where I helped plant 24Church as a layman. During this time, I also traveled throughout the Southeast, leading worship for various conferences and corporate worship gatherings. In 2011, 24Church felt led to plant another church in East Nashville, and I was sent as the co-planter/Pastor along with a core group of thirty other people. After serving there for three years, the Lord moved our family to Birmingham, Alabama, where I currently serve as the Associate Worship Pastor at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.

I am a perpetual learner, and in my desire to continue to grow as a pastor and a leader,
I entered seminary last year at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I expect to complete a Master of Arts in Christian Studies degree over the next year.
My desire and
prayer is to be a pastor fi
rst, and a musician second. The way in which I get to shepherd God’s people is through the corporate worship gathering of the church. I also shepherd God’s people by leading a response to the commands of Scripture to, “Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His feet, for He is holy.”

After college, I married the love of my life, Melody, and we just celebrated our 11-year anniversary this past month. The Lord has blessed us with two amazing daughters. Our oldest daughter, Gracen, was adopted from birth, and 13 months later our biological daughter, Sammie, was born. They are now 7 and 6 years old. Our family is passionate about foster care and adoption, and so we like to say that the third child spot in our family is sort of a revolving door as we have cared for six different foster children over the past two years. Currently, we have a one-year old little boy that we hope to adopt very soon. In just a few short weeks, his biological sibling will be born and enter our home as we pursue his adoption.

Pastor Tim and I share a passion for mobilizing the local church to live on mission and take the gospel to the ends of the earth. We also believe that in order to do that, there must be a vibrant and life-giving weekly gathering of the church family. It is humbling to be considered as a candidate to lead this great church in that gathering. It is a great joy to be considered to help mobilize FBC Douglasville to use her gifts and passions for the glory of God and the good of the people. I’m honored at the possibility of joining you on mission as your next Worship Pastor.
